I wanted to share with 'you all' (sorry, I've been in Texas!) some exciting changes that are ahead for my Butter Girl blog! I have been working closely with a great friend and photographer, Olivia Westfall. (www.OliviaBeth.com) Olivia is patiently working with me through the process of making my Butter Girl blog a great place for you to land for nutrition consulting services, cooking classes, workshops, tasty recipes...and as always, my chatty narratives of what is going on in my silly and sometimes complicated life.
We all have journeys and this one is mine. I have been so honored to share the love story of me and my Rick on my Marital Status: W blog. As I keep moving forward on this nutrition journey that Rick so lovingly led me to, I am finding more and more, a sense of 'belonging'. It has taken me a while to work my way through the monstrous dust storm, but by golly....I do believe that I am finding my direction and finally....a soft, comfy place to land.
I am very excited to share with others how they can still enjoy the food that was once my existence; only now in a much healthier fashion. Pleeeeez remember, healthy does not mean deprivation and/or starvation! I am still in love with 'pretty food'. Guess where digestion begins....in your brain! Let's give your brain some pretty/healthy stuff to look at on your dinner plate...and let the digestion process begin. Why? Because digestion is imperative to good health. (Sorry...sermon over..amen.)
If all goes well, we will be able to launch the new and improved Butter Girl in the next couple of weeks. Keep watching...I think you are going to like it!

Amen sista!
ReplyDeletePs. I decided to make your loaded banana bread as my other snack with Jack.
ReplyDeleteWhich brings me to, what the kale is "aluminum free baking powder" whattt? haha There is aluminum in my baking powder?!
Olivia, I'm so happy to hear that you are baking with Jack...as I had shared, those are the things your kiddies will remember! And yes, there is aluminum in your baking powder...what the kale is right! You can get aluminum-free baking powder in the healthy food section at Kroger...the price difference really isn't all that different either.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I shall do a blog post about the importance of getting aluminum out of our cooking. Research shows that aluminum accumulates in the bones and brain, which can lead to osteoporosis and Alzheimer's. Aluminum foil falls into this conversation too....sigh. Anyway sweetie, good luck with the banana bread and hugs to Jack; our junior baker!
