Much Needed Affirmation

As hard as it is for me, I knew that I would not be able to spend much time on my blog in these last few days before my testing with the Nutrition Therapy Association.  I have thrown myself into study mode.  Most things are on hold until my return the first week of June.

I am in full study submersion.  Yesterday I even packed up and headed to a local library.  Staying here at home, means that the laundry calls to me, the weeds that have rudely returned to my flower beds call to me, the kitchen (my fav place to be) calls to me.  And because I am easily distracted, the library is the best answer for me.  Actually, my college aged student suggested this trick to his mother.  Thank you have always been my greatest cheerleader; supporting me in whatever I do.  XXOX

This morning I found something that I wanted/needed to share.  It is an email that I received from a brave and fearless client of mine.  A gentleman from Chicago.  Through a lot of communication and questionnaires, I have actually been able to make a difference in this man's life.
As I sat here reading his email this morning, I began to cry.  (Yes, I do cry a is don't worry about that).  As I approach the finish line in this endeavor of mine, I have found myself full of doubt.  Am I doing the right thing?  What shall I do once I am finished?  Where oh where will I land next?
His words; a kind gift of affirmation that I was needing.  I am that gal who has ALWAYS lacked most everything that I do.  If I had been fortunate enough to have been bestowed with a good sense of self-confidence, who knows what I could have done in this lifetime.  We should never doubt ourselves or each other...we all are power houses just waiting to be unleashed.  It has always been in my heart to help others; thank you to this wonderful man for acknowledging that this is truly possible.

Hi Connie,
I was a little concerned about the questionnaire since it didn't really address the specifics on how I felt in the past two months since taking your advice and the supplements, so here is the info I wanted to happily share with you.
I have not felt bloated or had a feeling of being full when I eat after starting those supps.  This was a major concern to me since I am not a big eater to begin with. I have also not experienced much acid reflux or heartburn in the past few months. I have not taken a acid reducer in about three weeks, nor a Zyrtec in 7 weeks, (a horrible word in your vocabulary). :)
The enzymes really seem to break down food alot better and in turn seems like they have relieved me of anything bad inside my body.
Like I said in my previous texts, I am able to go to sleep and make it through the night now for the most part without spraying anything in my nose to relieve that feeling of not breathing.  At work, and this is also important I have not had those major sneezing bouts that often. Some days maybe 4 to 7 sneezes a day, but its a world of a difference from 100 a day.  As well as red eyes, constantly feeling like sneezing and a runny nose. Like I said, I never had allergies, and even when we first started talking in early December I never had any problems. It was January 2nd, a day I will not forget that it all started.  Ugh, horrible memories.
Once again, completely surprised. I cannot describe it specifically but the energy level is constant throughout the day and I am able to go from 545 am to 11 pm on most days. On weekends even till 2am without sleeping in too late, say 8 or 830. Very happy with those results as well. In addition, I have not had one day, not one day where I felt dizzy or light headed.
Well once again, surprising. I thought I had finished my career without being able to really focus at work.  Whether it is because my back was against the wall and I had to dig myself out of my self imposed grave at work I am able to go from 8am to 8pm lately without losing much focus. It actually has helped my confidence with my future because at 48 I thought I was done. I didn't think it made sense, as some people are able to work very securely into their 70's, I think the multi vitamins helped out alot with that.  The energy I get when I drink a Lucerne protein shake plus the supps in the morning and another in the afternoon keep me going strong. None of this is bullshit, I am a believer now. I am glad my personality allows me to take chances and say WTF just try it, so its A+'s across the board.  I will try and bring some Lucerne protein shakes and keep them cold if we ever meet up again since they don't sell them in your area. The best part is the taste, the Vanilla ones are the best, and to get 50 grams of protein a day for 2 bucks how can you go wrong?
You should be proud of yourself, as you were able to listen to me carefully and make a correct diagnosis on what I should be taking. So please do not doubt yourself when you meet with future clients.  I can't thank you enough for helping me out and trusting me with everything.  Hopefully, I eventually can ween off of things and become a normal person in society again, lol.  If not, I don't mind doing what I have been doing now.  You can safely say I am your success story and one day I will share that on your blog.
Once again thank you for the taking the time to personally analyze my situation, and honestly to much of my amazement it worked.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your best experimental mouse and Star Client

Pumpkin Doughnut Pleasure

Written for The River Current Publication      I think I have said this before, but I just have to say it again…I love all things pumpkin!   If one doesn’t share my love of pumpkin around this time of year, I suppose it could be a difficult thing.    All that one could do I suppose, would be to sit back and wait for the pumpkin madness to subside!   As we have slipped into the magnificence of a Mid-Western fall season, you will find in my kitchen simmering pots of pumpkin chili, pumpkin breads, pumpkin pies, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin coffees…well, I think you get the pumpkin picture!     For the last couple of weeks I have been craving a good pumpkin doughnut.   I have always been a huge fan of doughnuts, but in my quest for eating healthier, doughnuts are now a ‘once in a blue moon’ kind of treat for me.         I decided to try my luck at baking my doughnuts, rather than the typical fried version…making them a much healthier option.   What can I say…p

I have been inspired to create this blog, as a sort of 'branch' to my original blog... Marital Status: W .  I don't want others to think that my life is all about grief and sadness...I am forging forward with this new passion my Rick lovingly shared with and wellness.  I am exploring options and opportunities that will enable me to share my previous love affair with food in a more nutritious and appealing fashion.  I am still an avid foodie, I am just a foodie in transition. I was a little surprised when my post entitled, Butter Girl Goes Organic had more views than many of my other posts.  When I shared this with my vibrant hairdresser; she replied, "Well yeah, people probably think it is something kinky!"  Really??  Call me naive, but that never crossed my mind and honestly, I don't like to think of what that could even possibly mean!  Oh well, I like to pretend it is because others have an interest like mine...creating lifestyle changes a
